The three shows, produced by The Page Theatre and Standing Room Only, are strongly linked by their savagely funny depictions of relationships that have lasted just long enough to go sour.
Throughout all of them however, there is the definite sensation that despite whatever problems couples have, there is an intrinsic love that remains, even if the relationship doesn't. The three plays use this connection, along with a strong comedic spine and a touch of tragedy, to create a highly theatrical yet innately truthful image of love; yes it is powerful, yet it is funny, yes it is cute, yes it painful, yes it is sad...but then so are all of these plays.
The plays are very different visually, but are united by that one thing that often unites people as well as theatre. After all, what else could bring acrobats, post-its and umbrellas together, but love?
Acrobats

He threatens to drop her, she vows to leave him — Two acrobats go valiantly through the complexities of their routine, smiling toothily, bowing on cue, and, all the while, conducting a sotto voce but lacerating marital spat. This clever, whimsical playlet, which was presented Off-Broadway on a double bill with Line, depicts two "acrobats" engaged in a running marital feud while, at the same time, going through the intricacies of their routine.

Post-Its

Hilarious and moving Post-Its is told though glimpses of moments written to eachother, it explores the ups and downs of a relationship that were unexpectedly captured on scraps of paper.

Wiser

Wiser is a one-man show starring...well, just call him Wiser; we'd like to be able to tell you his first name but he doesn't let slip. He will however tell you many other things, such as his like for good food, his distaste for puppies, his extended drinking habits and his penchant for approaching women in bars when it's raining outside. Wiser is a brief, humorous and occasionally tragic look at an ordinary man torn between embracing or escaping that one moment that could lead him on two very different journeys.
Written by Standing Room Only's own Joe Hinks, "Wiser" would receive its theatrical debut in "These Three Things"
